 Reminders

Tuesday March 2 is Dr. Seuss day, students may dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character. In person students should remember if they are absent they need to make up the homework missed. Remote students should be submitting homework on a daily or weekly basis, so that I can check and grade them in a timely manor and enter the grade on Educate. Reading assessment beginning on Tuesday, I will give students a reading prompt to check their reading fluency and reading readiness. It is imperative that every student is reading by the end of the kindergarten school year.

Lesson Plan 2/22-2/26

 Reminders

Monday Feb 22. is a regular day of classes dismissal at 3:15pm. I will be part of a grade level meeting Monday February 22nd from 8:30 to 9:30am to discuss results of MAP testing and how we should move forward, a lot of the students scored beyond the grade level band and therefore it is necessary to evaluate how the class should move academically. I will be taking attendance as normal and if you are not present by 8:15 you will need to let me know you have arrived after I have taken attendance, during the grade level meetings, remote students are to practice on Edgenuity.  Wednesday the coach will be doing our class via zoom and she will observe strategies used, then from 2:00 to 2:30pm I will meet with the coach, while I meet with the coach students will review sight words for the 30 minutes during this time. Stations of the Cross are held on Fridays during Lent at 2:00pm parents are welcomed to join us. 100 days of school is this Friday, students may dress up as if they are 100 years old.

Tomorrow Monday February 1st school will be closed due to the impending snow storm, no zoom classes either. Friday is early dismissal at 12:00 noon, for parent teacher conferences and I only see 11 parents out of 24 students have signed up for the zoom meeting. Please log into your child's google account and there will be a shared drive to sign yourself up for meetings, please remember its first come first serve that is why it is important for you to check the blog weekly for announcements. I will resume math assessment and rhyming words assessment this week. No new sight words this week, just practice all sight words given up to this point, sight word assessment next week.

Rhyming word assessment on Tuesday, Math test Wednesday on measurement weight, height, length and capacity. Ready Gen end of Module test will begin Friday January 29th students have up until Wednesday February 3rd to complete the online assessment via https://www.savvasrealize.com Your child's username and password are in the google classroom. Report cards will be distributed February 4th for in person students and remote students will be mailed their report cards. The report card meeting will be held via zoom on Friday February 5th a sign up sheet will be set up via google classroom, it will be on a first come first serve basis, if you do not know how to use google classroom its very easy, I cannot go back and forth setting up appointments. Please log into your child's google classroom and view the shared document to sign up. February 5th will be an early dismissal day at 12:00 noon for parent conferences.

MAP test were given last week, results for MAP will be sent home with report cards on February 4th, End of quarter 2 is January 29th for submission of grades. If your child is remote it is imperative that you send proof of homework, it's not fair to those who submit proof daily or weekly, it takes seconds to snap a picture and send. Please check your child's google classroom,  as it has a number of work that has not been submitted, google classroom should be checked weekly for work that has been assigned.
